A. Allusion
- I alluded to the fact that racism still goes on now even though we may not have experienced it or see it.
- The tone of my poem was wishfulness. Even though African Americans are free according to the law there still is inequality and racism going on.
- The rhyme scheme that I used was AABB.
- My poem is craft based on the themes of Countee Cullen's poems. The themes that majority of his poems deals with are racism and inequality.
- My goal when writing this poem was to mimic Countee Cullen's themes but to relate it to how racism for African Americans is today.
